short update:
im thinking of posting a brand new blog, all about reviewing stuff.
im going to put a public excel sheet up for all my wins instead of just posting posts...

i think im going to stop posting here and post them on a public spreadsheet or something.
It's a little redundant for me.

The Ipad photo contest winner was announced!

the tension is all over. it was announced just a few minutes ago....

Good news:
-I got the most views on the photo (good for the sponsors. good marketing on them=more contests from them)
-I learned a lot about the process of voting, asking for votes, and places over the internet where to find votes.
and how stressful and time-consuming getting daily votes can be! (oy..)

Bad news:
-10+ hours learning about voting and getting votes not really time well spent.
-I focused so much on this contest that i missed out on entering all my regular ones =(

-I didn't win. Stuart's Victoria photo won. Maybe it wasn't meant to be...

For those that's interested....

The contest organizer finally explained in detail How was the points were calculated:

"Stars = percentages of votes. I was told 5 stars = 1 point and other ratings = a percentage of 1 point. The platform has calculated it all automatically and that’s how it does it. The only calculating that will have to be done manually is the entry dates vs points.
Just to clarify, I used this system because everything is automatic. It has already spit out the winner for me to approve."

I MIGHT have won the photo contest

First of all, thanks again everyone for voting for me as much as you could. This was my first daily voting request, and it was a lot more stressful and time consuming than i thought. Bugging everyone for votes everyday was kinda draining and i think some of you got annoyed =( ....

so i MIGHT have won...

Yesterday night I politely complained about to the contest organizer about the contest site bugs, black outs, and the re-voting time issues (i could have got twice as many votes last night!) This was her response: "I'm working with the contest platform to formulate the best way to calculate the winner (looking at the top ranked images per the system as well as entry date). The winner will be selected using the fairest method available."

So I don't know if i won or not...we'll see.
